January 2018

Welcome to what we hope will be a regular method of communicating with parents and supporters of all our Junior players. The newsletter is intended to keep you up to date with what is going on in the Junior Section and around the Club.

Free Season Ticket for all First Team Home League Games

Remember that all junior players have a free season ticket to all first team games played at the Tameside Stadium in the Vanarama National League North. The ticket also allows discounted entrance to an accompanying adult.

If you don't have a season ticket please ask your team coach to pick one up for you.

New Jako Kit for U7, U9, U11, U13 & U15 Teams

The club operate a two year kit cycle for all teams at the club. This year new kits have been allocated to our U7, U9, U11, U13 & U15 teams. The old Hummel kit should have been returned at the start of the season as we donate them to charity. We also take pride in all of our teams looking incredibly smart when representing the Club. If any player is still using the Hummel kit, please speak to your team's coach who will arrange a replacement Jako kit.

Remember, the kit is designed to last for two years so there will be plenty of room to grow in to them when initially allocated - but the players always do grow in to them ! The kit is always the property of the Club and should be returned if a player leaves.

Free Online Safety Courses for Curzon Ashton Parents & Carers

Being online is a part of everyday life, and is a valuable and important tool for children to use in learning and communication.

Children have access to computers through schools, libraries and at home, so it’s important that parents and carers understand the risks of being online, and how to protect their child against these risks.

Manchester Digital Laboratory is a not-for-profit grassroots digital innovation organisation based in Manchester, and in partnership with TMBC, they are running a number of FREE Online Safety talks and workshops at the Tameside Stadium. There are two separate one- hour sessions that parents and carers can book on to. The first is an introduction to the dangers of being online, and offers practical advice about online safety, and the second workshop will provide practical help with updating devices with security settings.

Session 1
An introduction to the dangers of being online, with practical advice on how to keep your child safe, and where to go for further support.

Session 2
A practical session with hands-on guidance for implementing parental guidance techniques. Bring your own device (laptop, mobile phone or tablet). Participants must have attended Session 1 in order to book onto Session 2.

Each session is 1 hour long and can accommodate up to 18 people. If you are interested in attending, please email andy@curzon-ashton.co.uk to reserve a space.

Sessions will run on 7, 14, 21 & 28 February 2018.

Open Doors at Christmas

You may have seen in the local press that the Club opened its doors to the local community on Christmas day. The morning saw over 40 people come together during the morning to enjoy a free breakfast and the company of others.

If you have any ideas for similar initiatives that the club can support, please contact the Club's Community Manager, Andy Cheshire  via email andy@curzon-ashton.co.uk
